AN ORDIi~ANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local
Improvement District No. 269, providing for the imMrovement of Bertha
Avenue, from 6th Street to 9th Street, as in saicJ Ordinance described;
providing for 'the levying and assessin~ for the c 8sts and expenses there-
of against ~he parcels and lots of land ~etween the termini and within
t~e boundaries of said improvement district; providing; for the collection
thereof; creating and establishing a special fund the~.efor; and fixing the
date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof.
THE CIT~ OF BREMERTGN DOF, S ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Assessment Roll for Local Improvement District
No. 269, providing for the improvement of Bertha Avenue, from 6ti~ Street
to 9th Street by the construction of five foot concrete sidewal~{s, con-
crete curbs and gutters, together with the doing ~.:f any snd all other work
in cor~tection therewith as may 0e necessary to make such improvement a
comp%ere job, all in accordance with the Plans and Specifications on file
in the Office of the City ~t~:rk and as provided bi' Ordinance No. 2221, the
same is hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. l~hat each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown
in said assessment roll is equally benefited Sy said improvement and trtat
there be ~.~nd is hereby assessed against each parcel and lot of land and
part thereof and other property contained in said improvement district as
shown in said roll, including any property belonging to the City of Bremer-
ton an~] t~e respective amou~ts in said roll set against each ~a rcel and
lot of land and or part thereof and other property between the termini of
said. improvement, abutting upon, adjace~t or proximate to said improvement,
and such amounts so assessed are hereby declared to be first liena gainst
each p,-rcel or lot or part ~hereof against w[~ich the same is assessed in
said roll.
Section 3. re'hat for the purpose of this improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fun~.~ to ~e known as "Local Improvement
Fund District No. ~69". Bonds, bearing interest at 4~ s~all be issued in
semial nmmbers from one (1) to ~8 inclusive, to as many as may be necessary
to provide for the ~ancollected portion of said district on the date herein-
after fixed, to se in denominations of ~00.00 Bonds each, e~.cept the first
which si~all ~.e for such fractio~.~,al part of ~200.00 as may be remaining and
unpaid on said date, payabi~ from said "Local improvement Fund District No.
269".
Section 4. That tt-~e llth day of' October, 1957, L:e and the same is
hereby fi~ed for the date o_~' .issuance and sale of bonds tc be issued on
account of said improvement.
Section 5. ~'hat this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty (30) days from and after its passa~'.e and pui~lication as provided
by law.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the ~,~ayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage t!~is 14th day of Auaust, 1957.
