An ordinance approving and confirming the assessments and assess-
ment roll of Sidewalk Construction Fund, District No. 1, for the con-
struction, reconstruction and repair of sidewalks, gutters, curbs along
and driveways across sidewalks, in the City of Bremerton, under Ordinance
No. 2190, and levying and assessing the amounts thereof, according to ben-
efits, against the several lots, tracts and parcels of land and other pro-
perty as shown on said roll; providing rot the collection of said assess-
ments and authorizing the issua~ce of sidewalk construction fund warrants
to pay the cost and expense of said improvements.
THE CIT]f OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the assessments and assessment roll of Sidewalk Con-
struction Fund, District No. 1, for the construction, reconstruction and
repair of certain sidewalks, gutters, curbs along and driveways across
sidewalks, in the City of Bremerton, under Ordinance No. 2190, as the same
now stands, be, and the same hereby are, in all things approved and confirm
ed.
Section 2. That each of the lots, tracts and parcels of land and
other property shown upon said roll is hereby declared to be specially
benefited by said improvement in at least the amount charged against the
same, and that the assessment appearing against each lot, tract or parcel
of land and other property is in proportion to the cost that each separate
improvement bears to the respective abutting property. There is hereby
levied and assessed aginst each such lot, tract and parcel of land and
other property described in said roll, the amount finally charged against
the same thereon.
Section 3. Said assessments may be paid on or before the 15th day of
February, 1957, without interest, but thereafter all deferred payments
hsall bear interest at the ~ate of 6 per cent per annum up to and includ-
ing the due date of the last installment. Thereafter any unpaid balance
shall draw interest at the rate of 12 per cent per annum. Any portion of
any assessment not paid within the time aforesaid may be paid to the City
Treasurer in three installments, the first of which shall be due, payable
and delinquent on the 15th day of February, 195V, the second installment
six (6) months from the date of the confirmation of the assessment roll,
and the third installment twelve (12) months after the date of the confirm-
ation of the assessment roll, together with interest thereon.
Section 4. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to issue side-
walk construction warrants, as provided in Ordinance No. 1907, in an a-
mount not to exceed the cost and expense of the improvements referred to
in said ordinance.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify and trans-
mit said assessment roll for the collection of the assessments fixed and
set forth therein 5o the Citf Treasurer for collection, pursuant to law.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 2 day of January, 195V.
