AN ORDINANCE PROVIDINO FOR INCREASE IN THE SALARIES 0F THE SEVERAL OF~
FICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE DEPART~iENT OF THE
CITY OF BREMERTON AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1594-A AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES

WHEREAS, the increased cost of living has made the present salaries of
the officers and employees of the Fire and Police Departments of the City of
Bremerton inadequate to maintain a decent standard of living and raises are
necessary,
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. From and after the date of the adoption of this ordinance,
the compensation of the several officers and employees of the Fire and Police
~epartments of 'the City of Bremerton shall not be less than as set out below:
FIRE DEPARTNENT: Chief, $$0Z.00; Assistant Chief, $48?.00; Captain Inspector,
454.00; Captain, $449.00; LieUtenant, $418.00; Fire & Equip. Nain~enance Nan,
~99.00; Fireman Inspector, SZ~O.O0; Fireman, $$85.00; Fireman, ~nd Class,
$Z71.00; Fireman ~rd Class, $$80.00.
POLICE DEPARTNENT: Chief, $~0~.00; Assistant Chief, $471.00; Captain,
Lieutenant Detective, $4~8.00; Lieutenant, $4~8.00; Sergeant Detective,
Sergeant, $405.00; Detective, $~7.00; ~otorcycle Patrolman, $$91.00; Patrol-
man, $~85.00; Patrolman, ~nd Class, $Z71.00; Patrolman, Zrd Class, $$50.00; Pol-
icewoman, ~$8~.00, Juvenile Officer, ~$8~.00, Senior Clerk, ~$7.00; Clerk Sten-
ographer, $$08.00; Identification Officer,
Section B. 'Dhat in addition to the above minimum salaries, each member of
the Fire and Police Departments of the City of Bremerton shall receive after
five (~) years service, $5.00 per month; after ten (10) years service, $10.00
per month; and after fifteen (15) years service, $18.00 per month.
Section $. That Ordinance No. lS~4-A and all other ordinances and parts
of ordinan~es in conflict are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after
the 1st day of January,

day of December, 19~8.
