AN ORDINANCE amending Section 14 of Ordinance No. 1905, as amended
by Ordinance No. 1928, 1936, 1940 and 1991.
THE CITY OF BRES~ERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That subsequent to the passage of Ordinance No. 1991,
amending Section 14 of Ordinance No. 1905, the private contractor for
collection of garbage in the City of Bremerton, Washington, has made a
cost of living adjustment by way of a wage increase with its employees,
and under the terms of the contract between said private contractor and
the City of Bremerton, authorized by Ordinance No. 1928, adjustments in
rates may be made under such circ~nstances and a new rate schedule be
adopted. That Section 14 of Ordinance 1905, as amended, is hereby a-
mended to read as follows:

Where garbage collection is made more than once per week,
the charges shall be as follows:

Where collections az~e made more .often than once a week, but the
number of cans is less than twenty-five per month, the charges shall be
in accordance with the rates set out above.
CuStomers shall be c~as~ified in one of the a0ove categories on
the basis of averaa, e weekly collection. All premises occupied during
all or any part of a given month shall be charged a minimum of $1.1~ for
garbage service, whether any collections were actually made or not, sub-
ject to the occupant proving t~at there was no garbage or refuse of any
kind created or accumulated which the garbage collector' could have col-
lected.
Where it is permissible to collect rubbish for pick up in other than
garbage cans, it shall be charged for as if it has been placed in such
cans of regular size.
Where a requested c ollecticn is of such an unusual size or at some
time other than regul~r collections are made at ~he premises, a special
charge 0ased on the e~.tra expen~.~iture of labor and equipment shall be
set by the garbage collector, and as established by the proper department
of the State of Washington.
Section 2. This Ordinance, after passage and publication, shall be-
come ~fective on the let day of Narch, 1956.
APPROVED on first reading this 25th day of Ja~uary, 19~6.
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of
such passage this 27th day of January, 1956.
