AN O[~DINANCE creating the positions of extra labor in the
Engineering Department, providing for the appropriation of funds
for which no appropriation was made in the 1958 budget, and de-
claring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That at the time of the adoption of the 1958
budget it co~.~d not have been reasonably forseen that the work
lead in the engineers office would increase beyond 'the capicity
of the employees provided for in the 1958 budget, and there is
hereby created the positions in the Engineering Department of
Extra Labor and that said positions shall be filled and paid in
accordance with the Job Classification Ordinance Number 2251.
Section 2. There is hereby appropriated from funds~ not
otherwise appropriated the sum of six thousand dollars ($6000.00)
to the item E~tra Labor Salaries and ~ages in the engineering
budget.
Section 3. That by reason of the establishment of the pos-
itions of extra labor in the Engineering Department there exist
and is hereby declared to exist an emergency and this ordinance
is necessary for the present preservation of the public peace,
health, safety, and welfare of t~e citizens of the City of Brem-
erton and is required to carry on the necessary work under the
law of the depar.tment 'herein described and shall take effect im-
mediately following passage and puolication.
APPROVED on first reading, this 16th day of April, 1958.
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY by the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, si~ned by the Mayor and attested by the City Cl.~rk
in aut~enCication of such passage this 24th day of April,1958.
