AN ORDINANCE regulating the installation and the use of oil
~ners, oil storage tanks, oil stoves, oil burning furnaces and
o r mechanical devices and equipment used to store or burn fluid
fu. providing for the issuance of permits for and inspection of
au. tallation; providing penalties for the violation thereof,
and ~nding Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2099.
THE TY OF BREIERTON WES ORDAIN:
That 1 of Ordinance No. 2099 is hez~eby amended to read
as follows:
Section It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor-
poration, to or install any oil burner, oil storage tank, oil
burning stove, 1 burning furnace, or any other device or equipment
or combination devices or equipment, used or intended to De used,
to store or burn .quid iuel, of whatsoever kind or nature or for
whatever purpose, or about any dwelling house, hotel, apartment
house, store, f , or other structure within the corporate lim-
its of the City of merton, without having secured from the City
of Bremerton, ape \therefor. The permi~ shall be issued by the
City Building Inspector~and shall be valid lor 90 days thereafter
unless work is sooner co~g~enced. A permit not having been used with-
in 90 days may be renewed~upon application to the Building Inspector
and upon payment of one-half the oermit fee provided for such permit.
approval of the City Building'Inspector shall be secured as
follows: ~
A written applica~ion for~a permit to install such liquid fuel
burning devices or equipmenL sh~ll be f{led with the Building In-
spector of the City of Bremerton~ on a Iorm approved by said Inspec-
tor, which shall Contain complete~date regarding such installation,
together with a copy of the specifications an~ directions of the
manufacturer of each unit of the proceed\ installation.
The said inspector shall have th~ right to require the filing
not deem the ~pplication as originally R ed to be complete. If the
Building Inspector believes the conforms with
the provisions of t~is ordinance, he shal issue the said permit;
otherwise he snail reject the application notify the person, firm
or corporation applying for the permit, of h rejection, and the
reason or reasons therefor. Any person feel ~g aggrieved by such
rejection shall have right of appeal to the Council by filing
with the Council and the Building Inspector, ate copies of an
appeal, in writing, and the City Council shall ~t a date for the
hearing of such appeal within ten (10) days filing thereof.
