vacation periods, sick leave, and providing
rules and regulations governing same.
THE CITY OF B~RTON DOES O~AIN:
SECTION 1. That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1813
be amended to read as follows:
Section 6: LEG~ HOLIDAYS: The following are legal
holidays:
New Years Day, Lincoln's Birthday, George Washington's
Birthday, Memorial Day, The Four~ of July, Labor Day, Colu~us
Day, Veterans' Day, the day on which any general election is
held throughout the state, Thanksgiving Day and Christ,s' Day and
any other day designated by p~lic proclamation of the Chief
Executive of the State as a legal holiday, or as a day of
Thanksgiving. When ever any legal holiday, other than S~day,
falls upon a Sunday, the following Monday shall be a legal
holiday, and when any legal holiday falls on a Saturday the pre-
ceeding Friday shall be a legal holiday.
If any holiday falls on one of the regular days off
of any employee whose days off are not Saturday and Sunday,
such employee shall receive eider the day following such
holiday or the day preceeding such holiday as a day off and
if required to work on such day, shall be compensated in
accordance with the applicable provisions of this ordinance.
