AN ORDINANCE fixing the speed limit
on Kitsap Way from Wilbert Avenue to
Cambrian Avenue and declaring an
emergency.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton has conducted engineering
and traffic studies in connection with speed limits presently
in existence on Kitsap Way between Wilbert Avenue and Cambrian
Avenue~it has been determined that the speed limit now presently
permitted by state law upon the said street is lesser than is
reasonable or safe under conditions found to exist upon this
street, now, therefore
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1: That the speed limit on Kitsap Way in the City
of Bremerton, County of Kitsap, State of Washington, from
Wilbert Avenue to Cambrian Avenue is hereby declared to be
thirty five (35) miles per hour and that such speed limit shall
become effective upon proper posting thereof and approval by
the State Highway Commission, which approval shall be noticed
by letter directed to the City Clerk of the City of Bremerton.
Section 2: That an emergency exists affecting the public
peace, health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of
Bremerton, and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately
following passage and publication.
PASSED unanimously on first reading by the City Council of
the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this
