AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1939 and
repealing Ordinance No. 2881 and 2945, and
fixing the rate of interest on all 9eneral
City Warrants issued by the City of Bremertpn;
and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1: That Ordinances No. 2881 and 2945 are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 2: That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1939 is
hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1: That all 9eneral City Warrants dated subsequent
to the effective date of this Ordinance and issued by the City
of Bremerton against any of the funds of the City shall bear
interest at the rate of Five Per Cent ( 5% ) per annum from
the date of presentment of such warrant for payment at the
office of the City Treasurer, and his payment at the office
of the City Treasurer, and his endorsement of such presentation
thereon, until such warrant is regularly called by notice, or
otherwise paid or certified, as provided by law.
SECTION 3: That an emergency exists and is hereby
declared to exist, and this Ordinance is necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety
of the citizens o~ the City of Bremerton and this Ordinance
should take and be effective immediately following passage and
publication.
PASSED unanimously by the City council of the City
of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk
in authentication of such passage this ./~-dAy of May, 1974.
