amending Chapter 1 of the Official Code of the
City of Bremerton by adding a new section thereto
to be designated Section 103-12.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1: That Chapter 1 of the Official Code
of the City of Bremerton be and the same is hereby amended by
adding thereto a new section to be designated Section 103-12,
to read as follows:
Section 103-12: POLITICAL SIGNS. All signs relating to
the nomination or election of any individual for public political
office or advocating any measure to be voted upon at any special
or general election is a political sign and shall be subject to
the following regulations:
A. Political signs shall not be displayed more
than thirty (30) days prior to a primary election nor for
more than seven (7) days after a general election~ PROVIDED
THAT, those signs which relate to candidates or issues which
appeared on the ballot for a primary election but shall not
appear on the ballot for a general election shall be removed
within seven (7) days after the date of the primary election.
B. No political sign shall be erected upon any
property without the permission of the resident or owner thereof.
C. No political sign of any nature shall be
attached in any manner to any utility pole, light standard,
directional sign post or right-of-way fence, or in any manner
which would obstruct the vision of drivers upon streets or alleys.
D. The fee for political signs shall be One Dollar
($1.00) except that no fee shall be required for a political
sign 30" X 24",or under, in size. All persons putting up political
signs of any size shall first obtain a permit for such purpose
from the Building Department prior to the placement of any signs.

E. Prior to the issuance of a permit to place
political signs, a deposit of $50.00 shall be placed with the
Building Department. If political signs are not removed
according to the provisions of this ordinance such deposit shall
be forfeited automatically to the City without further notice.

PASSED on second reading by the City Council of the
City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
