HomeMy WebLinkAbout3307 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 3147 as amended by Ordinance No. 3184, Ordinance No. 3216, and Ordinance No. 3301 relating to the Municipal Water Supply System of the City of Bremerton increasing water and sewer rates. THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. - a. Section III, Subparagraph G.i. of Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.080 (a)) is amended to read: 1. Meter rates within the city limits: 500 cubic feet or less .............. $3.00 The next 4,500 cubic feet @ .......... 40 Over 5,000 cubic feet @ .............. 35 - b. Section III, Subparagraph G.4. of Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.080 (d)) is amended to read: 2. Where two or more separate buildings or premises under separate ownership or management are now supplied with water through one meter, the min- imum rate for each such separate building,..re- gardless of the size of the meter, shall be three dollars per month within the city limits and four dollars and fifty cents per month out- side the city limits. The payment of such amount shall entitle each separate building to five hundred cubic feet of water per month per unit. The rates provided by this section shall apply to places of business, residences, house trailers, tourist cabins serving as permanent family units, and any other such premises used for permanent human occupancy by the same family or tenant for periods of more than one month. The provisions of this section shall apply to each unit of duplexes and similar buildings where the respective units thereof are separately or jointly owned by more than one family or business. Section 2. Section III, Subparagraph H.1. Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.090 (a)) is amended to read: (a) Minimum meter rates within the city limits per month for five hundred cubic feet or less: 5/8 to 3/4 inch meter .................. $ 3.00 1 inch meter ........................... 4.15 1-1/2 inch meter ....................... 6.20 2 inch meter ........................... 8.25 3 inch meter ........................... 12.40 4 inch meter ........................... 20.65 6 inch meter ........................... $33.~0 8 inch meter ........................... 49.~0 12 inch meter .......................... 66.00 Section 3. Section III, Subparagraph I, Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.100) is amended to read: I. INDUSTRIAL RATES. Consumers using in excess of forty thousand cubic feet per month may make application for industrial rates on forms to be supplied for such purposes, which industrial rates shall be a minimum fixed charge of one-hundred twenty dollars per month for water up to forty thousand cubic feet and thirty cents per one hun- dred cubic feet in excess of forty thousand cubic feet per month. Section 4. Section III, Subparagraph J, Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.110) is amended to read: J. SPECIAL IRRIGATION RATES. A special rate for sprinkling or irrigating tracts of land shall be available to single family residences, duplexes and fourplexes during the summer period. As to premises for which billings are produced during June through November, special rates will apply. The special rates shall be $12.00 for the first five thousand cubic feet used during each bi- monthly billing period and thirty-five cents per one hundred cubic feet thereafter. Tracyton rates shall be $15.00 for the first five thousand cubic feet used during each bi-monthly billing period and forty-seven and one quarter cents per one hun- dred cubic feet thereafter. All other county rates shall be $18.00 for the first five thousand cubic feet and fifty-two and one half cents per one hun- dred cubic feet thereafter. Section 5. Section III, Subparagraph L.3, Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.130 (c)) is amended to read: 3. Service Charges. The rates for water supply, for fire protection purposes exclusively, shall be termed service charges and shall be as follows for any one month or portion thereof for service inside the city limits: Size of Service Fire Service Charge 2 inches ................................ $ 3.00 3 inches ................................ 3.45 4 inches ................................ 4.80 6 inches ................................ 6.90 8 inches ................................ 8.25 10 inches ............................... 10.95 12 inches ............................... 12.00 Rates for service outside the city limits shall be one hundred fifty percent of the city rates. Section 6. Section III, subparagraph AM, Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.500) is amended to read: v~ WATER DISTRICTS - RATES. The rates for water sup- plied to incorporated water districts through mas- ter meters shall be as follows for one month or fractional part thereof: A. Rates in Low Pressure Zones. For six hundred cubic feet per month per user - Two dollars and eighty-five cents; Over six hundred cubic feet per month peruser, perone hundred cubic feet -Thirtycents. B. Rates in Intermediate Pressure Zones. For six hundred cubic feet per month per user - Three dollars and twenty-five cents; Over six hundred cubic feet per month per user, -per one hundred cubic feet - Thirty cents. C. High Pressure Zones. For six hundred cubic feet per month per user - Three dollars and seventy-five cents. Over six hundred cubic feet per month per user, per one hundred cubic feet - Thirty-five cents. Section 7. Section IV, Subparagraph H.2.b., Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.550 (b) (2)) is amended to read: (b) Sewer service charges will be levied, when possible, on the basis of water metered to the premises at fifty cents per one hundred cubic feet per month up to the minimum cubic feet specified in the chart below, and at forty cents per one hundred cubic feet thereafter. Section IV, Subparagraph H.2.e Ordinance No. 3147 (Municipal Code 15.04.550 (b) (5)) is amended to read: (e) Those premises within the city limits served by the Bremerton sewer system, but not served by the Bremerton water system, shall pay a monthly sewer charge as follows: City residents ............... $2.50 per month County residents 3.75 per month APPROVED by the City Council on the first reading this ~~day ~ August, 1976.
