AN ORDINANCE Establishing the Waste- ~ ~~%
Water Facility Department.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. DEPARTMENT CREATED. There is created a department of
the City to be known as the wastewater facility department. There
is created in the classified service of the City a position to be
known as wastewater facility superintendent.
SECTION 2. SUPERVISION. The wastewater facility supervisor shall
work under the supervision of the commissioner of public works and
shall be assigned a work-week schedule in accordance with terms
set by ordinance and shall be governed by provisions of all
ordinances of the City so far as they shall pertain to such position.
SECTION 3. POWERS ~D DUTIES. The wastewater facility ~uper~ter~dent
shall:
A. Be charged with the operation of the municipal
wastewater plant(s);
B. Be responsible for the repair, maintenance and
control of the sanitary treatment and discharge
facilities;
C. Be in charge of training for operation of the
wastewater facilities;
D. Shall assist and make recommendations to the
City Engineer in new design and modifications
to the wastewater facilities;
E. Coordinate, direct and supervise the preparation
and submission of periodic and special operating
reports on wastewater treatment facility
operations.

F. Represent the wastewater facility department
at meetings' and public hearings with state
and federal agencies; and
G. Carry out such other assignments as are directed
by the Commissioner of Public Wor~s.
SECTION 4. ASSISTANTS. The Wastewater Facility Superintendent sSa]l
have such assistants as shall be necessary and as shall be assigned
by the Commissioner of Public Works and the City Council.
