AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 1
and 5 of Ordinance 970, which sections
are codified respectively as BMC 5.08.010
and BMC 5.08.050 and relate to procure-
ment of an auctioneer's license prior to
conducting an auction and the bond that
must be executed when applying for said
auctioneer's license.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1.
Section 1 of Ordinance 970, which is codified as
BMC 5.08.010, is amended to read:
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, or offer
for sale any goods, wares, merchandise, or other personal or real
property of any kind or nature, at auction, without first procuring
a license so to do, to be known as an "auctioneer's license" The
fee for such license shall be the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00)
per year. An auctioneer's license may be obtained by a firm,
company or corporation and such license will satisfy the auctioneer's
license requirement for employees of the firm, company or corporation;
Provided that no such license shall be required of any public officer,
executor, administrator, guardian or trustee who shall sell o~
offer for sale, at auction, any property pursuant to legal process.
No license issued in accordance with the provisions of this chapter
shall be transferred.
SECTION 2.
Section 5 of Ordinance 970, which is codified as
BMC 5.08.050, is amended to read:
Any applicant for an auctioneer's license shall at the
time his application therefor is filed with the City Clerk, execute
a surety company bond running to the City in the sum of two thousand
dollars ($2,000.00), conditioned that the principal shall conduct
the auction in an orderly manner and abide by all the provisions

of this chapter, and all other laws or ordinances relating to
public auctions and the business of auctioneer.
