the Wharf Fund, 1961 Budget of the City of Bremerton,
at a monthly salary of $510; and transferring from
the item Water Front Improvement, Capital Outlay, *~
Wharf Fund, to the item F~reman, Wharf Fund, in the
1961 Budget, the sum of $250 ~; and declaring
an emergency.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That there is hereby Created the position of
Foreman in the Wharf Fund, 1961 Budget of the City of Bremerton, at
a monthly salary of $510.
Section 2. That there is hereby transferred from the
budget item Water Front Improvement, Capital Outlay, Wharf Fund,
the sum of $250 to the item Foreman, Wharf Fund, 1961 Budget, and
there is hereby appropriated to said item the aforesaid sum of $250.
Section 3. That, at the time of the adoption of the 1961
Budget, it could not have been reasonably foreseen that the 1961
Legislature of the State of Washington would pass an act, making it
permissible for cities to utilize the services, at a minimal cost,
of people on welfare; that the city has decided to utilize the benefits
of this act, and for that reason there exists and is hereby declared
to exist an emergency, and this ordinance is necessary for the
present preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare
of the citizens of the City of Bremerton and is required for carrying
on .the~necessary maintenance of the public wharfs, and this ordinance
shall be in effect immediately following passage and publication.
APPROVED on first reading this 17th day of May, 1961.
PASSED on second reading by the City Council of the City
of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk
in authentication of such passage this 24th day of May, 1961.
