SUMMARY: Pursuant to RCW 41.56, negotiations have concluded between representatives of the
City and the Teamsters resulting in the attached Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). These
negotiations have been discussed with Council in Executive Sessions. This CBA replaces the current
one that expired on December 31,2005. The new CBA is for a three (3) term, beginning January 1,
2006 through December 31, 2008. It was ratified by the Teamsters' membership on June 21, 2006.
Council approval is required to implement this agreement.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): There are sufficient funds set aside in the 2006
budget to cover the cost of the proposed contract. A General Fund budget adjustment for 2006 of
$67,046 and a Utilities and Other funds adjustment of $154,048 to reallocate the labor costs from the
Miscellaneous Non-departmental budget (set aside for Labor) to the various departments is required.
The projected cost of this CBA for all funds in 2007 is $465,798 and in 2008 is $819,456.

between the City and Teamsters Local #589, January 1, 2006 through December 31; 2008, and make
the necessary amendments tje budget.
