THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1813 and Section 1
of Ordinance No. 2588 be and they each hereby are amended to read
as follows:
Section 6. LEGAL ttOLIDAYS: The following are legal
holidays:
New Year's Day, Lincoln's Birthday, George Washington's
Birthday, Memorial Day, The Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus
Day, Veterans' Day, the day of the Biennial State Election (even
numbered years), Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and any other
day designated by public proclamation of the Chief Executive of
the State as a legal holiday, or as a day of Thanksgiving. When---
ever any legal holiday, other than Sunday, falls upon a Sunday,
the following Honday shall be a legal holiday~ and when any legal
holiday falls on a Saturday the preceeding Friday shall be a legal
holiday.
SECTION 2: That by reason of the im~iner~eof a State and
National election, and for other reasons of an urgent nature,
an emergency exists and is ~hereby declared to exist, and this
ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health, safety and general welfare of the citizens
of Bremerton, and shall take and be in effect immediately uFon
passage and publication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of ~remerton,
signed by the P~ayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication
of such passage this 28th day of October, 1964.
