AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance No. 2300
and amending Section i~ of Ordinance No. i972
relating to zoning of the City of Bremerton
into fire districts and establishing the
,limits of such districts.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 2300, dated the 8th day of
October,.1958, amending Section 19 of Ordinance No. 1972
relating to zoning of fire districts in the City of Bremerton
is hereby repealed.
Section 2. Section 19 of Ordinance No. 1972 is amended
to read as follows:
"Whenever any property zoned as residential is hereafter re-
zoned by ordinance of the City of Bremerton as B-1 or B-2 Business
District, said property shall be designated as Fire Zone No. 2,
and any property rezoned as Business District B-3 and not adjacent
to Fire Zone No. I shall be designated as Fire Zone No. 2.
EXCEPTIONS: Whenever such B-1-2-3 areas that are not
located adjacent to Fire Zone No. 1 become closely built, they
shall be designated as Fire ZOne No. 1.
DEFINITION: A closely built area is hereby defined as
a block or part block which has at least 50 percent of the ground
area built upon and 50 percent or mo~e of the built-on area is
devoted to commercial occupancy; except that where the average
height of b~ildings is 2 1/2 stories or more, a block or part
block shall be considered closely built if the ground~area built
~upon is at least 40 percent devoted to commercial occupancy.
Section 3. Any B-1-2-3 area consisting of two or more
adjoining blocks or any B-1-2-3 district comprising a built-on
area of 100,000 square feet or more, or any mall type'development
where the total area of all of the buildings in the complex are
