AN ORDINANCE amending certain sections of %~q~.~
Ordinance No. 3147 relating to sewer lines.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 3147, Section 4(E) is amended
to read as follows:
The city shall operate, maintain and replace
or repair, as may be necessary, all city
sewer mains within the street right-of-way
or on public utility easement.
When such maintenance, repair or replacement
of lateral connections is due to user activi-
ties, the city shall hold the owner liable
for all costs of repairs, replacement,
inspection and any other costs incurred to
the city as a result of such user activities.
Section 2. Ordinance No. 3147, Section 4(J) is
amended to read as follows:
Each building or commercial structure served
by the Bremerton sewer system shall have a
separate lateral except, that such buildings
may share a common lateral when special and
unusual topographic and/or physical conditions
prevail.
A common lateral may only be installed after
review of the City Engineer and then only
when there is a mutual agreement for repair
and maintenance. Such mutual agreement
must run with title to the property and be recorded
with the Kitsap County Auditor.
Section 3. Ordinance No. 3147, Section 4 is amended
to add a new subsection as follows:
Sewer customers may not allow significant
amounts of debris, grease or any material
other than sanitary sewage and waste water
into the sewer system.
