AN ORDINANC~ of the City of B~emerton,
Washington relating to subsidizing of
ambulance emergency medical services;
providing for a special election and
declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton has previously paid a sub-
sidy to a private ambulance company and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to submit an ordinance
to a vote of the qualified electors of the City Of Bremerton
for its ratification or rejection; NOW THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City shall not pay any subsidy to any
private business providing ambulance emergency medical services.
Section 2. It is hereby found and declared that an
emergency exists requiring submission to qualified electors of
the City at a special election to be held therein on the 10th
day of March, 1981, an ordinance proposition.
The Kitsap County Auditor, ex officio supervisor of
elections for such county, is hereby requested also to find the
existence of such emergency and to assume jurisdiction of, and
to call and conduct, said special election, at which the
proposition hereinafter set forth shall be submitted to the
qualified electors of the City.
The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to certi-
fy the proposition to the Kitsap County Auditor in the following
form:

subsidy to any private business providing

more than forty-five (45) days prior to the date of such special
election.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect upon passage, approval and publication.
Approved by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
Washington, at an open public meeting thereof and
PASSED by the City Council of Bremerton, signed by the
Mayor and attested to by the City Clerk in authentication of
such passage this ~ day of January, 1981.
