and employee age restriction
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1 of Ordinance No. 3262 shall be
amended to read as follows:
2.44.020 EMPLOYEE AGE RESTRICTION. Upon reaching the age of
sixty-five years no appointed official and no employee of the
city, except uniformed personnel of the police and fire
departments who are governed by state civil service and
retirement laws, shall be permitted to remain in the employ of
the city, provided that employees and appointed officials who
have reached the age of sixty-five may be granted an extension of
employment on a year to year basis, upon the condition that they
demonstrate ability to satisfactorily perform the tasks required
of such employment. Such extension is to be granted by the
mayor.
APPROVED by the City Council on the first reading this
