AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 3291, §3,
relating to the city treasurer's powers
and duties.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 3291 shall be
amended to read as follows:
2.10.020 POWERS AND DUTIES. The city treasurer shall:
A. Carry out such assignments as are given him by the
mayor.
B. Make such reports in his area of responsibility as
are required by the mayor, city council, city charter, city
ordinances and in general by state law;
C. Be charged with the development of the annual
budget and financial reports filed with the State Auditor's
Office;
D. Coordinate, develop and supervise all accounting
procedures of the city within the aspects of fund, budgetary and
utility accounting;
E. Be responsible for keeping abreast of current
practices in governmental accounting and shall apply them to city
accounting as appropriate;
F. Work in close cooperation with the city auditor in
the collection and assembly of data for the preparation of
management reports; and
G. Invest city funds in sound securities and ensure
maximum return for moneys invested.
