AN ORDINANCE establishing the pro-
cedures applicable to securing a
shuttle bus service license and
providing for an annual license fee.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
SgCTION 1: LICENSE REQUIRED.
No person shall operate a shuttle bus service in the
City of Bremerton without first having obtained a license from
tnt~ City Council, which shall be issued by the City Clerk.
~CTION 2: APPLICATION FOR LICENSE.
An application for license shall be filed with the City
Clerk, upon forms provided by the City Clerk, and the
application shall be verified under oath.
~: ISSUANCE OF LICENSE.
If the City Council finds, after public hearing, that
further shuttle bus service in the City of Bremerton is required
for the public convenience, need and necessity, that the
operation of an additional shuttle bus service will not unduly
cause traffic congestion in the City of Bremerton or unduly
interfere with citizen parking, and that the applicant is fit,
willing an~ able to perform such public transportation and to
conform to the provisions of this chapter and the rules
promulgated by the City Council, the application shall be
granted, provided however, that the Council shall not grant such
application without first considering parking arrangements for
the shuttle bus(es) and designating an appropriate amount of
parking space(s). The City Clerk shall issue _~ license stating
~he name and address of the applicant, the description of the
vehicle authorized under the license, the designated ~ ~king
space(s) and the date of issuance. Otherwise, the application
shall be denied.
SECTION 4: LICENSE FEE.
No license shall be issued or continued in operation
unless the holder thereof has paid an annual license fee of One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each year, for each vehicle,
operated under the license. Said license fee shall be due at
the beginning of the license year on July 1st, shall be
prorated, and shall be in addition to any other fees or charges
established by proper authority and applicable to said holder or
the vehicle or vehicles under his operation and control;
pro¥ided, however, that payment of the license fee entitles the
shuttle bus operator to designated parking and he shall not be
liable for any other parking fee.
