SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the City Committee Meeting Date: June 14,2006
to Make Formal Application for Funding COUNCIL MEETING Date: June 28, 2006

SUMMARY: The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program - Trails (WWRP-TR) grant
program has been established by the State to provide funds to acquire,develop or renovate non-
motorized trails that are not part of a street or roadway. Funds from this program are proposed to
partially fund design, permitting and construction of the park and boardwalk components of the
Bremerton Boardwalk Project. To be eligible to receive the grant, a resolution in the format presented
must be completed.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This WWRP- TR grant would provide $2,000,000
beginning around July 2007 to partially fund Design, Permitting and Construction of the Boardwalk
and Parks components of the Boardwalk Project.
