AN ORDINANCE rezoning a 20 acre parcel of City-owned property,
located within the City limits west of Gorst and south of
SR-3.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton is considering the sale of a
20-acre parcel of City-owned property, located within the City
limits west of Gorst and south of SR-3; and
WHEREAS, the property is designated on the Comprehensive Plan
as "Surplus Utility Land" and zoned "Forest Management (FM)"; and
WHEREAS, the FM zoning was a temporary~application and not
intended to reflect the highest and best use of the property; a~d
WHEREAS, the Planning commission conducted a public hearing
on September 19, 1989, accepted public comments on this rezone
proposal, considered zoning options offered by City staff and
Kitsap County, and considered all applicable criteria for the
approval of a rezone, as contained in Chapter X, Section 5-B of the
Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held before the City Council on
October 11, 1989, to accept public comments pertaining to this
matter and to consider the Planning Commission's recommendations;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council agreed with the Planning
Commission's recommendation; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Amendment. The zoning for the property described
below is hereby changed from Forest Management (FM) to Single-
Family (SF-2):
That portion of the W 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of the
SW 1/4 all in Section 32, Township 24 North,
Range 1 East, W.M., lying south of the State
Highway.
The official zoning map of the City of Bremerton is hereby
amended to reflect this change as shown in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become
effective ten (10) days from passage and publications.
APPROVED by the City Council on the first reading this
