~ O~DIN~CE annexing approximately 30.6 acres in the vicinity of
Auto Center Way, Werner Road and SR-3, kno~ as the South Auto
Center Annexation, rezoning said property, and fixing the
effective date of annexation.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton, Washington, received Notices
of Intent to Commence Annexation from the owners of properties in
the subject area; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council held a meeting on June
21, 1989, to consider the annexation requests and a proposed
annexation area, and decided to proceed with this annexation ,
using the 75 Percent Petition Method, to apply zoning upon
annexation, and to require assumption of the City's indebtedness;
and
WHEREAS, there was filed with the City Council of the City
of Bremerton a Petition for Annexation, conforming to the City
Council's requirements as described above, in writing and signed
by the owners of more than 75 percent in value, according to the
assessed valuation for general taxation, of the total property
for which annexation was petitioned and which is included in the
South Auto Center Annexation Area; and
WHEREAS, an environmental review was conducted in accordance
with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and a
Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) was issued on July 26,
1989; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Planning Commission conducted a
public hearing on August 15, 1989, to accept public comments
pertaining to pre-annexation zoning and passed Resolution No. 89-
7 recommending application of the "General Industry (IG)" zone
upon annexation; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public
hearing on October 4, 1989, following proper posting and
publication of the hearing notice as required by law, to accept
public comments and to consider the annexation petition and the
Planning Commission's zoning recommendation; now, therefore
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
Section 1. The territory described in Exhibit "A",
attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, should be
and is hereby made a part of the City of Bremerton.
Section 2. Said territory hereby annexed shall be zoned
"General Industry (IG)" according to the map attached as Exhibit
"B" which shall be filed as a supplement to the Official Zoning
Map of the City of Bremerton.

Section 3. In conformance with the terms of the
Annexation Petition, all property within the territory annexed
hereby shall be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the
same basis as property within the City, including assessment or
taxes in payment of any bonds issued or debts contracted prior to
or existing at the date of annexation.
Section 4. This annexation is subject to approval by the
Kitsap Boundary Review Board this Ordinance shall take effect ten
days following passage and publication, or on the date of filing
of approval by the Boundary Review Board, whichever occurs later.
