AN ORDINANCE changing certain zoning district designations and
amending the official Zoning Map of the City of' Bremerton to
correct zoning errors on the north side of'Kitsap Way in the
business district north of Kitsap Lake. (Nesby/Ray Zoning Review)
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton established a six-month
Correction of Errors process following the 1988 adoption of the
new Zoning Ordinance to find and correct errors in the text and
in the application of zoning to specific properties or areas; and
WHEREAS, within that review period, Mark Nesby, James Ray,
and John Symington, owners of property in the subject area,
suspected that zoning errors may have occurred and requested a
zoning review in accordance with the Correction of Errors
program; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Review Committee conducted a review of
this entire Kitsap Way business district on March 28, 1989,
determined that errors had been made in the zoning of nine lots
on the north side of Kitsap Way, and made recommendations for the
correction of those errors; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted public
hearings on May 3, and on August 23, 1989 to accept public
comments pertaining to the zoning in this commercial district and
to consider the Review Committee's recommendations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agreed with the Review
Committee's conclusions that the "Neighborhood Business (NB)"
zoning district was correctly applied to properties along the
south side of Kitsap Way, but that nine propertie~ on the north
side were zoned "NB" in error and should be corrected to "General
Business (GB)"; now, therefore,
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
SECTION 1. The official Zoning Map of the City of Bremerton
is hereby amended as shown in Exhibit "A", and as follows:
The zoning of Lot 15 of the Plat of Lake Kitsap Summer Homes
and Lots 033, 034, 035, 036, 037, 039, 070 and 071 of
Section 8 of Township 24, Range 1 East, shall be changed
from Neighborhood Business (NB) to General Business (GB).
