AN ORDINANCE amending the Official Zoning Map of the
City of Bremerton to correct an error in the application
of the Single-family (SF-3) zoning district to properties
in a Study Area north of Sheridan Road and east of Pine
Road. (Pine Road Area Zoning Review)
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton established a six-month
Correction of Errors process following the 1988 adoption of the new
Zoning Ordinance, to find and correct errors in the text and in the
application of zoning to specific properties or areas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ray Houchen and Mrs. Ferne Hunt, within the six-
month review period, requested reviews of the new zoning of their
respective properties; and
WHEREAS, the Houchen and Hunt properties were combined with
other properties in the general area now known as the "Pine Road
Area", which included a total of 19 lots and is further illustrated
in Exhibit "A"; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Zoning Review Committee, at its meeting
on January 31, 1989, reviewed the zoning of the entire study area
in accordance with established zoning map review criteria,
determined that an error had occurred on lot #19 which had been
included in the Single-family (SF-3) zone although the lot was a
developed part of an existing apartment complex, and made a
recommendation to the City Council for the correction of that
error; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public hearing
on March 8, 1989, to accept public comments pertaining to this
matter and to consider the Review Committee's recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agreed with the Review Committee's
conclusion that an error had occurred, and further concluded that
the subject parcel includes high-density residential development,
is a part of the existing apartment complex, and should be included
in the most appropriate zoning district; now, therefore
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
Section 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Bremerton
is hereby amended to correct the identified error by including the
subject lot in the Multiple-family (MF) zoning district, as
described and illustrated in Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto
and incorporated herein.
