AN ORDINANCE amending the Official Zoning Map of the
City of Bremerton to correct an error in the application of the
Single-family (SF-3) zoning district. (Balodis Zoning Review)
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton established a six-month
Correction of Errors process following the 1988 adoption of the new
Zoning Ordinance to find and correct errors in the text and
application of zoning to specific properties or areas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ivars Balodis, within that six-month
review period, requested a review of the zoning of their two lots,
located at 3301 First Street in Bremerton and which are further
described by the County Assessor as lots 222401-1-001 and 222401-
1-002; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Zoning Review Committee, at its meeting
on January 31, 1989, reviewed the suspected error in accordance
with established zoning map review criteria, determined that an
error had occurred in the application of the SF-3 zone to the
subject property, and made a recommendation to the City Council for
the correction of that error; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public hearing
on March 8, 1989, to accept public comments pertaining to this
matter and to consider the Zoning Review Committee's
recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agreed with the Zoning Review
Committee's conclusion that an error had occurred in the
application of the SF-3 zone, and further concluded that the
property had historically been zoned for multiple-family
development, remains adjacent to the MF (Multiple-family) zoning
district, spot-zoning is not an issue, and that the down-zoning of
the property to SF-3 was not justified; now, therefore
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
Section 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Bremerton
is hereby amended to correct the identified error by including the
subject two lots in the Multiple-family (MF) zoning district, as
illustrated in Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein.

ZONING MAP CORRECTION
This Ordinance corrects the Bremerton Zoning Map by changing the
zoning of the following two lots from Single-family Residential
(SF-3) to Multiple-family Residential (MF). The affected lots
are described below and on the map as indicated by the arrow.
