AN ORDINANCE amending the Official Zoning MaD of the
City of Bremerton to correct an error in the application
of the Single-family (SF-3) zoning district to two lots
on the east side of Wheaton Way at Dibb Street.

WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton established a six-month
Correction of Errors process following the 1988 adoption of the new
Zoning Ordinance, to find and correct errors in the text and in the
application of zoning to specific properties or areas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ron Ross, within that six-month review period,
requested a review of the zoning of his two lots which are located
on the east side of Wheaton Way at its intersection with Dibb
Street and which are further described by the County Assessor as
Lots ~3972-000-00i-0007 and #3972-000-001-0106; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton Zoning Review Committee, at its meeting
on November 29, 1988, reviewed the suspected error in accordance
with established zoning map review criteria, determined that an
error had occurred in leaving the applicant's property in the
SF-3 zone when ail surrounding lands east of Wheaton Way were
placed in the Parks & Schools (PS) zone, and made a recommendation
to the City Council for the correction of that error; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public hearing
on March 22, 1989, to accept public comments pertaining to this
matter and to consider the Review Committee's recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agreed with the Zoning Review
Committee's conclusion that an error had occurred, and further
concluded that the location is not suitable for single-family home
development, the site is physically separated from and not a part
of the residential neighborhood to the west of Wheaton Way, the
SF-3 zoning was in conflict with the Comprehensive Plan, and the
property should be zoned for commercial uses; now, therefore
THE CITY OF BREMEKTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
Section 1. The Official Zoning Map of the City of Bremerton
is hereby amended to correct the idensif±ee ~rror by including the
suD3ect lots in the General Business (GB) zoning district, as
5ilustrated in Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein.
