HomeMy WebLinkAbout4252AN ORDINANCE amending the official Zoning Map of the City of Bremerton to correct a zoning error on a single parcel fronting on Northlake Way, north of Kitsap Lake. (Maupin Zoning Review) WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton established a six-month Correction of Errors process following the 1988 adoption of the new Zoning Ordinance to find and correct'errors in the text and in the application of zoning to specific properties or areas; and WHEREAS, Willard Maupin, within that review period, requested a review of the zoning of a property located at 2001 Northlake Way, which is about 12,500 square feet in area and includes an existing 8-unit apartment structure; and WHEREAS, the Bremerton Zoning Review Committee, at its meeting of March 28, 1989, conducted its review and concluded that an error had occurred and that the SF-3 zoning of the property should be corrected to "Multiple-family (MF)"; and WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public hearing on April 19, 1989 to accept public comments and to consider the Review Committee's recommendation, tabled the matter for further review by staff, and later reconsidered the matter at its regular meeting of November 1, 1989; and WHEREAS, the City Council agreed with the Zoning Review Committee that an error had been made, that the property should be zoned to more closely reflect its multiple-family nature, but that a zoning application that might allow a greater intensity of development than presently exists should be considered through the normal rezone process, not the correction process; now, therefore THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN Section 1. The official Zoning Map of the City of Bremerton is hereby amended to correct the zoning of the property illustrated and described on Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, from "Single-family Residential (SF-3)" to "Multiple-family (MF)" APPROVED by the City Council on the first reading this PASSED by the Bremerton City Council this day of )i~ ~//~??'~ ~?F , 1989.
