Conclusions
Approval of the proposed rezone would be consistent
with Bremerton Area Plan Policies which call for
the orderly expansion of existing commercial areas
on Sixth Street because the subject site is
adjoining a lot on Sixth Street which has been
developed into a commercial use, and with a rezone
to B-2, the subject site could be developed into a
commercial use.
The proposed rezone could provide an incentive to
redevelop the subject site and thereby potentially
improve the area with a new development.
No significant adverse problems with the proposed
rezone have been identified by City Departments or
other advisory groups through the enviroD_menta!
review process, and all common urban services are
available to the subject site.
The existing infrastructure at the subject site is
capable of supporting urban levels of service.
The proposed rezone to B-2 would permit the
establishment of uses which are not compatible with
8410 i 20038 ff1322 1515
the predominantly residential character of 7th
Street. The establishment of business uses would
not be in keeping with policies in the Bremerton
Area Plan.
The uses allowed in an R-2 zone would be compatible
with the residential character to the North, East
and West of the subject site, as well as the
business uses which have recently been established
to the South.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
~uQT~LQ]~__i: That the use and area maps of Ordinance No.
1792, are hereby amended in conformity with Title IV, Chapter 1
