AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1119, Section
One, Office of Building Official.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 1119, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
OFFICE CREATED - DUTIES. There is hereby created the office
of building official for the City of Bremerton. The office shall
be established under the auspices of the Planning Department and
shall work as required in concert with the Fire Marshal. The
buildin9 official shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed
by the City Council. The Mayor may make a provisional
appointment to this position without Council approval for a
period not to exceed 120 consecutive days. No person shall be
eligible for appointment as building official unless he is a
qualified expert with a thorough and complete knowledge of
construction methods and plans and of the building trades. The
individual must possess a current and valid ICBO certificate.
The building official shall devote his entire time, study and
efforts to the duties of his office and shall enforce the
provisions of this Chapter and all other ordinances relating to
the Buildin9 Code of the City of Bremerton.
