AN ORDINANCE establishing a Traffic Safety Commission
for the City of Bremerton.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1: There is hereby added to the Bremerton
Municipal Code a new chapter, 2.11, Traffic Safety Commission to
read as follows:
2.11.010 - TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION - CREATION - There
is created a Traffic Safety Commission composed of a
representative from the Engineering Department, Police
Department, Fire Department, Planning Department, Office of Risk
Management and City Attorney's Office.
2.11.020 - POWERS AND DUTIES - The purposes of the
Commission shall be to:
(a) Recommend the adoption of policies and
ordinances which will enhance traffic safety in
such areas as access control, crosswalk placement,
speed limits, and traffic flow.
(b) Review and provide coordinated recommendation~
for all major plats, rezones, and developments which
will ensure safe locations for vehicle access and
address traffic impacts;
(c) Recommend priorities for future traffic
control improvements.
2.11.020 - CONDUCT OF MEETINGS - The Commission shall
regularly meet at least monthly and shall adopt bylaws as may be
necessary and proper to conduct its business.
