AN ORDINANCE annexing approximately 20.18 acres known as the Kitsap Way
Annexation Area, located north of Kitsap Way, east of Marine Drive and west of Corbet Drive
along Kitsap Way, into the City of Bremerton and fixing the effective date of annexation.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton, Washington received from property owners in the
Kitsap Way neighborhood a Notice of Intent to commence annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, an environmental review was conducted in accordance with the State
Environmental Policy ACt (SEPA) on a portion of an unincorporated County area that included
the proposed Annexation Area, and a Determination of Nonsig~ica~c.e~-~.,~.).~ was issued on

WHEREAS, the City Council agreed to accept a petition for the proposed annexation on
October 16, 1991, subject to the assumption of a proportional share of existing City
indebtedness and the adoption of a comprehensive land use plan nnd zoning pursuant to ROW
35.73.177; and
WHEREAS, there was filed with the City Council of the City of Bremerton a Petition for
Annexation, conforming to the City Council's requirements as described above, in writing and
signed by the owners representing more than 75% in value, according to the assessed valuation
for general taxation, of the total property for which annexation was petitioned and which is
included in the annexation; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public hearing on July 14, 1993,
following proper posting and publication of the hearing notice as required by law, to accept
public comments on the annexation petition and accept said petition; and
WHEREAS, the Kitsap County Boundary Review Board held a public hearing on
September 30, 1993 and concluded that hearing on October 28, 1993.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREI~ERTON,
WASHINGTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The territory described and further depicted in Exhibits 'A' and 'B'
respectively attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, shall be and constitute a part
of the City of Bremerton.
Section 2. Said territory hereby annexed shall be zoned as described in Exhibit 'C',
attached hereto and incorporated herein; and the offjcial_zonirLq mai;} [0I the ~itv shal[_be~.

Section 3. In conformance with the terms of the Annexation Petition, all property within
the territory annexed hereby shall be subject to a proportional share of assessment or taxes in
payment of any bonds issued or debts contracted prior to or existing a the date of annexation.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect ten days following passage and publication
of this ordinance or the final date of written approval by the Boundary Review Board, whichever
occurs later. A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filled with the Kitsap County
Commissioners, State of Washington, and as otherwise provided for by law.
