National Heights Annexation Area ~1 Mai
Burwell Avenue along Marion Avenue meeting the City Limits north of
Arsenal Way into the jurisdictional boundaries of the City of
Bremerton and fixing the effective date of annexation.
~~, the City of Bremerton, Washington received from
property owners residing in the Marion Avenue Annexation area
Neighborhood a Notice of Intent to commence annexation proceedings;
and
~~, an environmental review was conducted in accordance
with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) of a portion of an
unincorporated County area that included the proposed Annexation
Area, and a Dete~ination of Nonsignificance (DNS) was issued on
February 21 ,1992; and
~~, the City Council approved the proposed annexation on
February 27, 1992, subject to the assumption of existing city
indebtedness; and
~~S, there was filed with the City Council of the City of
Bremerton a Petition for Annexation, conforming to the City
Council's requirements as described above, in writing and signed by
the owners of more than 75% in value, according to the assessed
valuation for general taxation, of the total property for which
annexation was petitioned and which is included in the National
Heights Annexation Area ~1 Marion Avenue; and
W~EREAS, the Boundary Review Board received an application
from the City for this proposed action on March 13, 1992 and on

May 1, 1992 announced through correspondence to the City that the
proposed annexation would not be subject to a review by their
board; and
WHEREAS, there was filed with the City Council of the city of
Bremerton a Petition for Annexation, conforming to the city
Council's requirements as described above, in writing and signed by
the owners of more that 75% in value, according to the assessed
valuation for general taxation, of the total property for which
annexation was petitioned and which is included in the National
Heights Annexation: Area #1 Marion Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public hearing
on May 27, 1992, following proper posting and publication of
the hearing notice as required by law, to accept public comments
on the annexation petition and accept said petition.
NOW T~EREFORE, TI{E CITY COUNCIL OF T~E CITY OF BREMERTON,
WASHINGTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The territory described and further depicted in
maps as Exhibits "A" attached hereto and incorporated by reference
herein, said property shall be and constitute a part of the City of

Section 2. Said territory hereby annexed shall be zoned
"Single Family Three (SF-3) and "Multiple-Family Residential (MF)"
as described in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and incorporated
herein; and the official zoning map for the City shall be amended

accordingly.
Section 3. In conformance with the terms of the Annexation
Petition, all property within the territory annexed hereby shall
be subject to all the City's laws and ordinances including
assessment or taxes in payment of any bonds issued or debts
contracted prior to or existing at the date of annexation.
Section 4. This Ordinance is subject to approval by the
Kitsap County Boundary Review Board and shall take effect ten days
following passage and publication, or the final date of approval by
Boundary Review Board, whichever occurs later.
A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filled with the
Kitsap County Commissioners, State of Washington, as otherwise
