AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bremerton relating to the expenditure of
general funds with which to pay the cost of acquiring land through
condemnation, the land to be used for the purpose of constructing the City's
public works complex.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton is in need of acquiring a parcel of property
situated on the east side of Oyster Bay Avenue to be used for the purpose of constructing
and developing the public works complex; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the parcel is $24,500; and
WHEREAS, the City has available sufficient funds to pay the cost of condemnation
from its general fund; and
WHEREAS, attempts by the City to otherwise purchase the property have been
unsuccessful; now, therefore,
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Condemnation. The City shall proceed to condemn the parcel of land
with the following legal description according to the procedures of RCW 8.12:
Lot 31, Block 1, Goodfellows Navy Yard Tracts, ~as per plat recorded in
Volume 3 of Plats, page 52, records of Kitsap County, Washington.
Section 2. Cost. The City shall pay the cost of condemnation from the City's Public
Works Complex Construction Fund #306.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days from
passage and publication.
