AN ORDINANCE decriminalizing violations of building and fire safety codes and
providing that such violations shall henceforth be considered civil infractions.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Repeal/New Section. Section 17.04.230 of the Bremerton Municipal
Code is hereby repealed and a new Section 17.04.230, PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS, is
adopted to read as follows:
17.04.230 PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS. Unless otherwise more specifically
provided, any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of the City
Building and Fire Safety Code shall be deemed to have committed a civil infraction and
shall be deemed to have committed a separate offense for each and every day or portion
thereof during which any violation of any of the provisions of the building or fire safety code
is committed, continued or permitted.
