AN ORDINANCE amending the term of Municipal Court Judge, and
amending Bremerton Municipal Code 2.62.020.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Amendment. Section 2.62.020 is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.62.020 MUNICIPAL JUDGE -APPOINTMENT QUALIFICATIONS AND
TERM. The office of Municipal Court Judge shall be filled by appointment of the Mayor,
subject to the confirmation of City Council, and shall otherwise be qualified to hold office
by reason of United States and State of Washington citizenship and admission to practice
before the courts of record of the State of Washington. The term of the first judge shall
commence on January 1, 1988 and terminate on January 1, 1992. The term of his or her
successor shall commence on January 1, 1992, and terminate on January. 1, 1994. Successors
shall be appointed every fourth year thereafter.
Section 2. EffeetiveDate. This ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days from
passage and publication.
