AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bremerton relating to the expenditure of
Utility funds with which to pay the cost of acquiring land through
condemnation, the land to be used for the purpose of sewage/sludge disposal,
and approving the condemnation of the property.
WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton is in need of acquiring a 20 acre parcel of
property situated adjacent to the City's watershed to be used for the purpose of
sewage/sludge disposal; and
WHEREAS, the appraised value of the parcel of land is Thirty-two Thousand Dollars
($32,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the City has available sufficient funds to pay the cost of the
condemnation from its Utility Fund; and
WHEREAS, attempts by the City to otherwise purchase the property have been
unsuccessful; now, therefore,
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Condemnation. The City shall proceed to condemn the parcel of land
with the following legal description according to the procedures of RCW 8.12:
N1/2 NE1/4 NWl/4 Section 11, Township 23 North, Range 1 West, W.M.
Section 2. Cost. The City shall pay the cost of the condemnation from the City's
Utility Land Account.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days from
passage and publication.
