AN ORDINANCE of the City of Bremerton making it unlawful to drive a motor
vehicle in an inattentive manner, and amending Chapter 10.04 of the Bremerton
Municipal Code.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. New Section. A new section is hereby added to Chapter 10.04, STATE
STATUTES, to read as follows:
10.04.035 INATTENTION TO DRIVING.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a vehicle in an inattentive manner.
"Inattentive Manner" means such a manner so as to fail to maintain a careful lookout
adequate to avoid endangering or colliding with persons or property.
(b) The offense of operating a vehicle in an inattentive manner shall be a lesser
offense than, but included in, the offense of operating a vehicle in a negligent manner under
RCW 46.61.525, and any person charged pursuant to RCW 46.61.525may be convicted of
the lesser offense of operating a vehicle in an inattentive manner.
(c) Violation of this section shall constitute a civil infraction.
