HomeMy WebLinkAbout4278 AN ORDINANCE amending Title 10, of the City of Bremerton
Municipal Code, to provide for mandatory automobile insurance.
WHEREAS, the State Legislature has enacted RCW 46.30 requiring
those who operate a motor vehicle to maintain liability insurance
and setting lower limits on the amount of coverage; and
WHEREAS, this provision should be adopted as part of the
Bremerton Municipal Code to allow local prosecution; now,
therefore,
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. New Section. A new section is hereby added to
Chapter 10.04 of the Bremerton Municipal Code to read as follows:
10.04.035 LIABILITY INSURANCE OR OTHER FINANCIAL
RESPONSIBILITY REQUIRED. RCW 46.30.020, as it now exists or is
later amended, is adopted by this reference.
Section Z. New Section. A new section is hereby added to
Chapter 10.04 of the Bremerton Municipal Code to read as follows:
10.04.036 DISPLAY OF IDENTIFICATION CARD OR PROOF OF
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - PENALTY FOR FALSIFICATION. RCW
46.30.040, as it now exists or is later amended, is adopted by this
reference.
Section Z: Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become
effective ten (10) days from passage and publication.
