AN ORDINANCE changing the definition of junk vehicle and amending
Section 9.08.060of the Bremerton Municipal Code.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Amendment. Section 9.08.060of the Bremerton Municipal Code is hereby
mended to read as follows:
9.08.060 NUISANCE.
(a) Abandoned, wrecked, dismantled or inoperative vehicles or parts thereof on
public or private property are public nuisances and may be abated by the City. Costs of
removal may be assessed against the last registered owner of the vehicle if the identity of
the owner can be determined, unless the owner in the transfer of ownership of the vehicle
has complied with RCW 46.12.101;or the costs may be assessed against the owner of the
property on which the vehicle is stored.
(b) Any law enforcement officer may inspect and certify that a vehicle meets the
requirements of a junk vehicle by recording the make and vehicle identification number,
license number of the vehicle if available, and by describing in detail the damage or missing

(c) "Junk Vehicle" means a motor vehicle which meets at least three of thc following
re, a_uirements:
(1) Is three years old or older;
(2) Is extensively damaged, such damage including but not limited to any of the
following: broken window or windshield or missing wheels, tires, motor or transmission;

(4) Has a fair market value equal only to the value of the scrap metal.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days from
passage and publication.
