AN ORDINANCE amending conduct constituting prostitution, repealing the
section pertaining to acts promoting prostitution, and amending the maximum
penalty for violation of Title 9.24,and amending Sections 9.24.020, 9.24.080
and repealing Section 9.24.030of the Bremerton Municipal Code.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Amendment. Section 9.24.020 of the Bremerton Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
9.24.020PROSTITUTION PROHIBITED.
(a) It is unlawful for any person to engage in, or agree to engage in, or offer tO
engage in. sexual conduct with another person in return for payment of a fee.
(b) For purposes of this chapter "sexual conduct" means sexual intercourse as defined
in RCW 9A.44.010(1) or sexual contact as defined in RCW ~ 9A.44.010(2).
Section 2. Repeal, Section 9.24.030 ACTS PROMOTING PROSTITUTION
DESIGNATED AND PROHIBITED of the Bremerton Municipal Code is hereby repealed
in its entirety.
Section 3. Amendment. Section 9.24.070 of the Bremerton Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
9.24.080 VIOLATION OF SECTIONS 9.24.020THROUGH 9.24.070- PENALTY.
Any person violating any of the provisions of Sections 9.24.020through 9.24.070 shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor n~.~ ~, ~ .... ~.: ......
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shill become effective ten (10) days from
passage and publication.
