Z,/~'~"9/ AN ORDINANCE annexing an area known as the Oyster Bay Annexation Area and amending the City's Comprehensive Plan and zoning for the Area. WHEREAS, the City of Bremerton, Washington received from property owners residing within the Oyster Bay Annexation Area, approximately located south ofLoxie Eagans interchange, east of Cottman Ave. West of SR3, a 75 percent petition for annexation signed by owners representing 75 percent or more of the assessed valuation of property within the annexation area; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved the 10 percent Letter of Intent on December 11, 1996 and simultaneous adoption of city comprehensive plan and land use designations and assumption of a proportional share of city indebtedness; and WHEREAS, the Bremerton City Council conducted a public hearing on April 30, 1997, following posting and publication of the hearing, as required by law, to accept public comments on the annexation petition; now, therefore, THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN: OYSTERBY.ORD - Ord. Dsk - 3/31/97 Section 1. The territory described and further depicted in Exhibit "A" and "B," respectively, and attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein shall be and constitute a part of the City of Bremerton. Section 2. In conformance with the terms of the annexation petition, all property, within the territory annexed, hereby shall be subject to all the laws of the city and ordinances including assessment or taxes in payment of any bonds issued or debts contracted prior to or existing at the date of annexation. Section 3. The Comprehensive Plan and Official Zoning Map of the City of Bremerton shall be amended according to Exhibits "C" and "D" respectively, attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein. Section 4. This ordinance shall not take effect until the final approval by the Kitsap County Boundary Review Board, but no sooner than ten days following passage and publication. The City Clerk shall certify this annexation ordinance with the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners upon its effective date. APPROVED by the City Council on the first reading this_fla~ay of~ 1997.
