AN ORDINANCE adopting the 1997 editions of the Uniform Codes and the
State Building Code and amending Chapter 17.04 of the Bremerton
Municipal Code.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Amendment. Section 17.04.030 of the Bremerton Municipal Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
17.04.030 STATE BUILDING CODE - ADOPTION. The State Building Code, as amended, is
adopted by reference as follows, subject to the modifications and amendments set forth in this chapter.
(a) The Uniform Building Code, (UBC), Volumes 1, 2, & 3, 1994 1997 Edition as published by the
International Conference of Building Officials as amended by the Washington State Building Code Council and
effective on..,~,,~,,.~.~.~-T ..... ~.~ ~,~,~ ~ ~.~.~'nnA July 1, 1998 and published as Chapter ~. ~' .~.~n 51-40 of the Washington
Administrative Code, and inclusive of appendices chapters 3, divisions II and IV only; 4, division I; 31, division
III: and 33; and as further amended herein.
(b) The Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), -1--994 1997 Edition, as published by the International
Conference of Building Officials and as amended by the Washington State Building Code Council and effective
onl,~'ro"em~'~. ,.~..~,' ~ inn~.. . July 1, 1998 and published as Chapter 51 22 51-42 of the Washington Administrative
Code, and inclusive of appendices A, B, and C.
(c) The Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), and Uniform Plumbing Code Standards, !991 1997
Editions, as published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, as amended by
the Washington State Building Code Council and effective on
No¥ember i~, 1994 July 1, 1998 and published as Chapters 51 26 and 51 27 51-46 and 51-47 of the
Washington Administrative Code.
(d) The Washington State Energy Code (WSEC), ~ 1997 Edition, as amended by the
Washington State Building Code Council and effective on Ne;'em~er !fi, !99'!. July 1, 1998 and published as
Chapter 51-11 of the Washington Administrative Code.
(e) The Washington State Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality Code (VIAQC), 1991 Th/rd 1997
Edition, as amended by the Washington State Building Code Council and effective on~,,,, ~**.u~.~-T ..... r,~ ~v,~ Q ~,~ n9'~. July
1, 1998 and filed as Chapter 51-13 of the Washington Administrative Code.
Section 2. Amendment. Section 17.04.040 of the Bremerton Municipal Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
17.04.040 ADDITIONAL BUILDING CODES - ADOPTION. The following codes are adopted by
reference as follows, subject to the modifications and amendments set forth in this chapter:
(a) The Uniform Administrative Code (UAC), !97. 1997 Edition as published by the International
Conference of Building Officials, provided that Tables 3-A through 3-H are not adopted.
(b) The Uniform Sign Code (USC), !994 1997 Edition as published by the International Conference
of Building Officials.
(c) The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings (DBC) -1-¢94 1997 Edition, as
published by the International Conference of Building Officials.
(d) The Uniform Housing Code (UHC) 197. 1997 Edition, as published by the International
Conference of Building Officials is adopted except Chapters 2, 3 and 11-16.
Section 3. Repeal. Section 17.04.055 of the Bremerton Municipal Code, CITY BUILDING CODE
FEES, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective ten (10) days from passage and
publication.
