AN ORDINANCE amending Chapter 2.76 of the Bremerton Municipal
Code and updating the City's purchasing procedures.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. Amendment. Section 2.76.300 (a) (3) is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.76.300 PROFESSIONAL AND PURCHASED SERVICES.
(a) (3) All Professional Services utilized by the City from $-0- to $1,000 in value
may be by purchase order and letter of understanding. Professional Services Agreements in
excess of $1,000, but less than $20,000, require a formal contract approved by the Chairs of the
Operations and Fiscal & Budget Committees, or their committee designees, and the Council
President; PROVIDED that contracts for an amount of more than $1,000 and less than $10,000
may be made by purchase order and letter of understanding upon the approval of the Chairs of
the Operations and Fiscal and Budget Committees, upon notice to the Council President.
Purchased Services utilized by the City from $-0- to $10,000 in value may be by purchase order
and letter of understanding. Purchased Services in excess of $10,000, but less than $20,000
require a formal contract approved by the Mayor and a memorandum informing the Council of
the nature and amount of the expenditure. Professional and Purchased Service Agreements of
$20,000 or more require Council approval.
SECTION 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days from passage and
publication.

Pursuant to the Bremerton City Charter, Section 15(5) if the Mayor fails for
ten days to either approve or veto an ordinance, it shall become valid without
approval. Mayor Horton refused to sign and a]pprove Ordinance No. 4737.
