AN ORDINANCE relating to the establishment of on-street paid parking
on portions of Second Street, Fourth Street and Burwell Street in the
downtown business district.
Whereas, the City established by Ordinance Number 4703 the Downtown
Parking Plan on May 10, 2000; and
Whereas, the Downtown Parking Plan established on-street paid parking on
Second Street, west of Washington Avenue, on Fourth Street, east of Park Avenue,
and on BunNell Street, between Pacific Avenue and Washington Avenue; and
Whereas, the City administration desires to implement on-street paid parking on
Second Street east of Washington Avenue to provide parking in the vicinity of the
Bremerton Transportation Center; and
Whereas, WAC 38-330-270(6) authorizes the City to implement paid on-street
parking by legislative action; and
Whereas, establishment of on-street paid parking at these locations will not
impact traffic circulation in the area.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES
ORDAIN:
Section 1. That on-street paid parking is hereby established:
(1) On Second Street, west of Washington Avenue.
(2) On Fourth Street, east of Park Avenue.
(3) On Burwell Street, between Pacific Avenue and Washington Avenue.
(4) On Second Street between Washington Avenue and the Boardwalk.
as referenced in Exhibit A, drawing of proposed on-street parking locations, and
incorporated herein.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective ten days after
passage and publication.
