Regular meeting of the City Commissioners of t~e Oity of Bremerton
lVashington held at l0 O'Clock A.M. Wednesday August 2&,19£~, with Oommisstoner
O.S.Halverson presiding and Commissioner Casad and Attorney Stevenson present
at roll call, ~ayor C.E.B.Oldham being absent.
I,Iinute~ of the last regular meeting and adjourned meeting of August
17,1927, were read and approved as read by She following vote, Mr.Halverson,yes;
~Ir. Casad,yes;
Request for change of Ji~ey route from l~[r.Roy E.S=nner, was read as
follows; Extension of Boston, Street Jitney run to be over same route from~ 8th
street and High Avenue to llth Street down ll~h street to Veneta avenue and back
over the same route ~o Pacific Avenue.
LIr. Casad moved and seconded by Mr.Halverson tha~ the request of ~,ir. Sumner
be granted, ~.[otion carried as follows, Mr.Halverson yes; Mr. Casad,yes:
Temporary Ordinance presented and read regulating the sale of goods
in the City to be known as"Tempormry Merchants License" Mr.Halverson moved and
seconded by ~,,[r.Casad ~ha~ the Ordinance be considered as having its fires reading
and to be referz'ed for future action, ~otion carried as follows, Mr.Halverson,yes;
i~[r. Oasa~,yes;
[[r.W.H.Lord of Washington Avenue being present addressed the meeting
re~?arding furious driving of automobiles on Was~ington Avenue and requested the
Com~nissioners to enforce ~,he S~ate Law of 25 miles per hour.
The Cm~issioners agreed ~o have the law strictly ehforced, I¥ir.Halverson
moved and seconded By Mr. Oasad that all bills be al~proved and allowed by a
majority of the Commissioners and the 01erk be instructed to issue warrants for
the same.

Mr. Casad submitted'a letter, received from the State Land Commissloner~
Savidge regarding future changes contemplated ~ the City dock, letter ordered
filed by the City Clerk.
I,,[r.Oasad reported progress ih, the improvemen~ of alley between P~cific
and ~ark Avenues.
There being no further business tO come before the meeting Mr.Halverson
moved and seconded by Mr. Oasad that the meeting adjourn until ~riday evening

the property owners in the Linj~ .et-- condition on the proposed

~eeting was called for the purpose of ~iving the property owners in the
Lincoln School Distric~ an opport~ui~y of he.ring the preliminery report of City
Engineer Casad on the proposed grading of Streets in that district.
~r. Casad stated that ~o remain within the financial limits provided by
law on the assessed valuation o~ property for public improvements, he could
?rooeed with ~he contemplated grading and sewers ~nd estimated an aooroxima~e cost
~er fron~ foo~ at from ~.00 f~ grading ~nd sewers ~nd for extras l~ some wood
sidewalk~ ~ere put in about ~.~0 per foot.
Property owners present were: J.Studbakcr, IJr.Keno~a~,D.Ettinger,
~.E.Cla~ke, H.B~uuker, B.B.Attridge, Hary ~isturl, Hazel ~atell, August Johnson,
Leoz~rd ~choll, E.J.Fisher,E.G~$mr, C.C.Jones, £.J.Dever, Kimball.
