Special meeting of the City Commissioners of the City of Bremerton,
;¥ashington. held at 7;30 P.M. Tuesday May 10, 1927,, With Ma~or,0.E.B.Oldham
~residing and Commissioners, Halverson and Casad, ~resen~ at roll call.
The meeting was called for the purpose of giving cppertunity to the
Tater users of ~he Happy Valley Co~i~y, ~o s~a~e ~heir gr~evences regarding
certain mis~ders~andings of the eon~rae~ entered in~o between said
and ~he Oity Officials of Bremer~on.
The following represen~i~ives of the eo~y were presen~ Mr.
J.W.Me~rmand, Mr. Sweeney, Er.Moa, Mt.Rollins. Mr,Rowan, Mr.G~iddle. Mr.
RoGkhof~, I~.Phillips. Mt.Wang, and ~our lmdies,mlso City A~orney,Themas S~eve~en
Mr.~cDermand as ~he spokesm~ ~or ~he cockily addressed ~he meeting
and cited several instances, why he, believed ~he con~rac~ should be surrendered
~o ~he City officials, and ~he wa~er users of ~he co~i~y be supplied wi~h
wa~er ~der ~he direct supervision 'of~he 0i~y Wa~er Department.
T~e I~ayor, and Oo~issioners, stated that ~der the existing contrac~
there was no opport~ity by which they could offer any relief for the difficulties
in existence ~le~s by a surrender of their contract, and all interested
p~rties be supplied direct by the 0ity.
After all present had expressed ~their opinions it was mutually agreed
that the advice of the C~issioners had prevailed and Mr. Sweeney, moved and
seconded by Nr.Moe that they surrender the existing water agreement made by
and betwesn the water users of the Happy .Family Oo~ity and the City of
Bremerton, and all rights thereof, and~the~Oity Clerk be imstructed to file
