Regular meeting of the ~ity Commissioners of the City of Bremerton~
~sh,hold at l~ O'Clock A,~. ~ednesday April 18,1928,with ~ayor ~ E B.Oldham
residing and Commissioners Halverscn and Oasad and City Attorney Stevenson
resent at roll call.

Letter received from ~,iessrs Skerving and Peak on ~he ~appraisal o~
the 2400 acres of land adjoining the Municipal Water Works property setting
as their valuation $37.500.00.
Letter tmder date of April 6th,1928,£rom Wettrick and ~et~riok
regarding ~ime for appraising the property was again read.
l~r Bennett being present as representing the owners of ~he land
said he would lay the result of the estimate made by the appraisers for the
City before the lamd owners for their consideration.
The clerk was ins~ructe~ to writ~ Wet,rick and '~?ettrick Co and inform
of the decision of the City Appraisals report.
City Treasurer Anderson submitted a statement showing the cost of clearing
up assessments in full and taxex by redemption from the County Treasurer together
p~yment for the ~nit claim d~ed ere on the Kilburne property located on ~ashingto~ Ave
which has be%h s~ld' t0~Do~tor.~ W;J~neS,toSat of $2712.12.
'Mr Halverson moved and seconded by Mr Oldham that the Treasurer's report
as read be accepted and the ~2or and Clerk be instructed to sign the deed on behalf
of the ~ity in favor of Doctor ~ W.Jcnes and Blanch E.Jones ~is wife.

A petition received from Dr · W.Jones and John P.Schu~t for permission to lower
sidewalks adjoining their homes on Washington Ave,
Mr Halverson moved and seconded by .Mr Oldham that the permission be ~ran~ed
and changes made under the supervision of the City Engineer. Motion carried as fol .ows

Proposed Ordinance on the regulation of Restaurants and Hotels being re ,d
also protests against Section one of said Ordinance providing for the payment of f~om
$5.00,to $100.00.per annum. Mr Halverson moved and seconded by Mr Oldham that the

Petition received from property pwners of East Bremerton,requestimg th
establishing of grades on streets. ~M Halverson moved and seconded by ~M Oldham t~t ~he
matter be referred to the City Engineer, Motion carried as follows,Mr Oldham~es,

I~r Kastgren representing the Sanborn Map Oompany being presen~ reports
the progress made in City regarding the f~numbering of Blocks e to,and requested \
skeleton map so as to correctly nunber Block~ and an Ordinance passed providing f r
same.The Commissioners stated they would have'Ordinance passed when the map would be
provided which would be in two weeks from date.
The clerk was instructed to write the Lanson Compamy and request them to ~epair
gan~vay at the fcc t of 2nd S~reet or otherwise to remove it.
~&r Halverson moved and seconded by ~M Oldham that the clerk have a call
published fo..bids for the installation of an ornamental lighting syatem in a ceriain
location in ~he'city as described in Ordinance No 872, according to plans and specifications
prepared by City Engineer Casad,bids to be received up to l00'Olock A.M.Wednesda
~y 9th,1928, Bidders to submit certified checks in amount of 5% of total amount f their

instructed to enter into an agreement with the Bremerton News Searchligh~ Company for
the advertising of official publications for the ensuing year. Motion carried as ollows
